75th Anniversary Celebrations
In 2008 Birkenhead Soroptimists celebrated 75 years of service to the community. The Club held a week of celebrations to mark the event.
To start the celebrations we organised our first Moonwalk in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. This was a huge success with over 400 people taking part with the Army providing breakfast for the walkers at the end of the 10 mile walk. £15,419 was raised for the Charity.

A Childrens Party was organised for the Chernobyl Children visiting Wirral.Tea and a Disco were provided and each child given a gift.

On the Wednesday we organised an Antiques Roadshow where the public brought their treasures to be valued.
On Saturday morning 75 trees were planted in Arrowe Park by the President Christine Loughran assisted by I.P.International President Lyn Dunning and T.V personality Esther McVey.A stone marking the copse was also put in place.

The Charter Lunch was attended by the Mayor And Mayoress of Wirral, I.P.International President Lyn and Regional President Joyce as well as many other presidents and members from other clubs.
To round off the celebrations a bus tour of Wirral in a Vintage bus followed by tea in the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight was our final event.
