NEWS: Recognition for one of our Soroptimists
17/11/2008
Ann Williams received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Wirral Primary Care Trust after an amazing 50 years service!!!
Once a year Wirral Primary Care Trust turns the spotlight on the people who not only 'make health care happen' but also make services a little bit special for patients too.
Ann has made a huge contribution to health services in Wirral. She started her career in 1958 as a cadet nurse and went on to become the first Macmillan Nurse in Wirral.
Trained at Birkenhead General Hospital, Ann qualified in 1964, then became a Midwife and later a District Nurse. In 1983, along with her colleage Carol Boardley, she engaged with GPs and other groups to set up the Macmillan Nursing service in Wirral.
Now retired, Ann is an enthusiastic active member and devotes much of her new-found time and energy to fund-raising for Birkenhead Soroptimists.
CONGRATULATIONS ANN!
