NEWS: SI Birkenhead Welcomed in South Africa

During the Christmas holidays, 7 Birkenhead Soroptimists took some British goodwill to South Africa.  They visited their friendship link in Port Elizabeth and took a special greeting from the Mayor of Wirral to an Aids Hospice where they are hoping to build an HIV/AIDS testing clinic. 

Taking extra baggage, the Birkenhead Ladies and their partners delivered much needed children and baby clothes, blankets and stationery, in addition to a large sum of money to go towards building the new testing clinic.  All donations were warmly received by the Port Elizabeth team, who escorted the visitors around 3 of their projects; The Aids Haven, Khayalethu Street Childrens Project and Mother of Hope Womens Refuge.
